Iscar Adds Their Latest Creations To A Extended Line Of Prospering Hole Making Solutions
Iscar recently released several different drilling innovations to meet their customers needs. These innovative products are Sumocham Drill, DR-DH and Deep Drills. Drawing off of their expertise Iscar has come up with new and innovative ways to boost productivity for the end user. Here is a little bit about these brand new products, and how they will benefit the end user of these products.
SUMOCHAM Drills
ISCAR's new SUMOCHAM drill family is an advanced development of the very effective CHAMDRILL and CHAMDRILLJET drill families. The drill features twisted coolant nozzles with indexable drilling heads which are available in different head configurations for a variety of material groups. SUMOCHAM drills can be used on milling centers or lathes.
SUMOCHAM features four different standard drill head geometries, designed for unmatched performance and high reliability. The drill head is built with a sharp cutting edge and polished flutes. SUMOCHAM drilling heads are available in the diameter range of 8 to 25.9 mm. The drill head has ground flutes for smooth, uninterrupted chip flow and a ground gash for enhanced penetration.
The drill shank design is according to DIN 9766 standard, with obtainable drilling depth to diameter ratios of 1.5XD, 3xD, 5XD and 8xD. All drill bodies showcase coolant through holes. The accurate cylinder added to the clamping portion improves durability and reduces internal stresses. The rotation stopper planes are precision ground, which improve the control on the drilling head position and support, increasing tool performance and life. ISCAR's innovative SUMOCHAM drill line will allow for longer tool life and higher productivity.
DR-DH Deep Drills
DR-DH drills can achieve drilling depth-to-diameter ratio of 7XD and up. Constructed to be used on standard horizontal milling centers, turning, and multi-task machines. Use of additional machine and setup can be avoided. They will be available as semi-standard item in a diameter range of 25.4 to 69.5 mm (1.00 - 2.73").
Two versions will be available:
A Single Flute DR-DH-31.65-0350NC-2FS is a very rigid tool with a patented chip gullet design. It was tailored for easily cut materials like cast iron and low alloyed steel.
A Double Flute DR-DH-31.65-0350NC-2FD has a double chip gullet for upgraded chip flow. It was tailored for drilling gummy materials such as non-alloyed steel and high temperature alloys.
ISCAR DEEP HOLE DRILLS
With ISCAR's brand new solid carbide deep hole drills, you can safely drill up to 22 times diameter and reach bottom10% faster than with other solid carbide drills - and six times faster than a HSS drill. This capability can speed up many high-volume operations. The deep-hole drilling station no longer has to slow down a transfer line or stop it completely because a drill broke.
Different target applications include deep holes for automotive, hydraulic blocks and die & mold work. A aggregate of features help the twist drills to cut faster, straighter,deeper, last longer and expel chips more surely. A special high-strength core creates a more enduring drill point and allows for deeper flutes, enlarging the exit path for chips.
The drill tip themselves have a 140 positive-point, four-margin design to preserve the edge, diminish thrust forces and aid centering and tracking. A post-coat polishing step on the flutes, margins and cutting edges reduces friction and torque that can easily snap a drill.
