Microsoft Guarantees Kinect For Hardcore Games Like Bioshock & Casual Games Like Mahjong On The Web
Last month, Microsoft launched a number of events throughout the world from Toronto to the UK to promote its new Kinect for the Xbox 360 Console. Those events are there to promote their new device along with get users to check out the new systems and hopefully get them to purchase the new system for the holiday season.
Kinect is a small device which attaches to your Xbox 360 Console and offers a motion detection system which allows you to control games and the device without any real controller. The system has numerous sensors, cameras and even multiple microphones which grab all kind of data. This data is then processed by its effective processors and algorithms to pick up voice & visual commands. The system isolates individuals and follows them to pick up their commands. It also isolates particular voices and drowns out background noises.
In their newest Public relations campaign in the UK, Microsoft has promised that it'll not only support casual games such as the mahjong games series like mahjong online, but it will also support games for hard core gamers like the Bioshock and FEAR series. How they'll get this still remains to be seen, but seeing the great progress they've made with games such as mahjong connect and other puzzle type games, we have no doubt they will make this a smooth experience for consumers.
In these hardcode games, users will be able to control the weapons, walking and even zoom in functions with hand actions. It is challenging to imagine how exact movements that are needed in these types of games, might be controlled specifically in multiplayer settings. Initially these games were played with a mouse and keyboard on the Computer. As these games were migrated to consoles, they began using the xbox controllers instead. This offered less accuracy and more clumsy movement. Over time players got better at using these, but even today in Xbox live games were console gamers play again players with mouse controls, it's simple to see how much worse they are.
The problem now is that if these new players use kinect to control the system, it will be even less accurate and will make for an even more unbalanced experience on the internet. We will see the effect in the coming months and hope that Microsoft and game developers find a solution to this dilemma.
